This is it-Our 30th
Year Class Reunion from John S. Shaw High School. What an exciting
feeling and truly a blessing. The Reunion is scheduled for Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, August 12-14, 2005.
On Friday evening, we will have a reception at
7:00 p.m., with a 1970's Flair. So, pull out the Afro wigs, mini skirts,
boots, dashikis, patched jeans, halter tops, stack heels and bell bottoms. The
reception will be held at T.P. Crockmeirs located at 170 South Florida Street
. Hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will be provided. On Saturday
evening, we will have a dinner and dance at 7:00 p.m. at the Heron Lakes
Country Club, located at 3851 Government Street. The attire will be
semi-formal. On Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until closing,
you are encouraged to participate in a brown bag family gathering at the Mobile
Municipal Park. Bring food and the kids for an afternoon of fun and
relaxation.
The cost of the reunion is $75
per person and $125 per couple. This will include the
reunion location, hors d’oeuvres, meal and favors. Checks should be made
payable to John S. Shaw High School-Class of ‘75, and mailed to
the attention of Mrs. Melanie Rhodes Shelwood at 1066 St. Gallen Avenue West -
Mobile, AL 36608.
The Dunning Company will be available
to capture the memories of Saturday evening which will be used in our Souvenir
Booklet. Photos will be taken of all the class members and guests or spouses
beginning at 6:00 p.m. The booklet will cost $25, which must be paid in
advance. Although the booklet is not a part of the reunion fee, all class
members are asked to have their pictures made. The booklets will be mailed
directly to your home address from the company. If 25 books are not sold, the
Company reserves the right to refund all payments and cancel production.
Please bring your 1975 Yearbook to
the reception on Friday night. This will be a great time to have them signed.
If you remember, we received them after we graduated from high school, so we
did not get a chance to get signatures.
There were over 400 members in the
Class of 1975. On the back of this letter are the names of class members we
have been unable to locate. If you know how to reach them, please let me know.
Also, find enclosed a survey that we
would like for you to complete. We are hoping to share with you on Saturday
evening, statistical data relative to the current composition of our class. Please
return it with your payment to Mrs. Melanie Shelwood.
